  • Take a look at your daily activities and schedule, and identify which ones may be affecting your goals. What are some things you can choose to detach from?

  • The significance of the experiment is to "identify our own struggles, learn to understand them, and break through them through reflection and action." However, the reality is that without a strong external force or unexpected event pushing us to make necessary changes, it can be difficult for us to truly change our existing habits.

  • Setting new rules — Find a strategy that you can stick to.

The benefit of this experiment is that it applies an intangible pressure that motivates me to do things I normally wouldn't have the drive to do, or even things I never thought I could do. Forcing oneself to break away from their habits is a huge challenge, and the process can often feel uncomfortable. The thought "why am I torturing myself like this?" can arise frequently. However, when you gradually become accustomed to this discomfort, it can actually help you grow faster.

This reminds me of something our university president once said: "You're not trying to escape your comfort zone, you're trying to expand it."

My initial intention for doing this experiment wasn't to completely quit watching TV, as it's not a heinous habit. But when we turn it into our only option, we find it hard to make space for other, possibly more important things in our lives. It can even become an excuse to avoid facing reality.

Through conscious choice, we can learn to develop good thinking habits, such as not letting ourselves be bound by existing habits, but constantly digging deeper and asking ourselves: "Is there a better way to solve this problem? Are there other alternatives? Or, how can we transform this lifestyle into a tool that helps us instead of being a stumbling block?"

Because when we become accustomed to doing certain things, we often forget that there might be better choices out there.

Many times, it's not that we don't want to change, but that we're just so used to our current way of life that it's difficult to make a genuine effort to change. The most important thing is that this decluttering can give us enough space to think, enabling us to gain a deeper understanding of what we truly cherish.
